I use the Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision has a microphone. The microphone works with the program that comes with the webcam and MSN Messenger (although it is precisely the webcam on MSN Messenger does not work, but I think I have an answer, have not tried it yet). However, the microphone does not work if I have a sound that one of my websites. It should select options for individual programs to the Logitech USB microphone as the audio source. The microphone input on your sound card is probably enabled by default.
To configure the Logitech Microphone as the default for all programs ...
Go to the Windows Control Panel with the Sounds and Audio Devices and select the Logitech microphone as default device for voice and recorder by default.
